Schools

Bringing outside employers into students’ lives with one-to-one coaching sessions is something that schools typically do not manage to achieve on their own, but there is no doubt of its impact on students’ communication skills, and, according to student feedback, on their aspirations and levels of confidence.

All About Me is very generously funded by the Careers and Enterprise Company and the Heart of the South West Careers Hub.

Why This Programme?

Why This Programme?

Why This Programme?

  • To increase students’ skills in presenting, listening and articulating their strengths, skills and values to target a pressing skill shortage identified by employers, and the government-mandated careers provision target for schools.
  • To raise attainment by preparing students for the Spoken Language Endorsement for English Language GCSE which all four examination boards require.

Why This Programme?

Why This Programme?

  • Employers are increasingly reporting a major skill-shortage in school leavers’ communication skills hindering their ability to progress and succeed.
  • All About Me enables direct interactions between employers and students via schools to close this gap.
  • The programme helps schools raise aspirations, increase student communication skills, increase student awareness of their values to enable greater job fit and satisfaction
  • This is in keeping with current Government targets for careers provision in schools including meeting Gatsby benchmarks 1, 2, 3 and 5: contributing to a stable careers programme; learning from career and labour market information; addressing the needs of each pupil and providing encounters with employers and employees.

Successful launch

All About Me has been successfully launched in several schools in the South West of England delivering measurable impact to students from Years 7-13.

  • “To go from not one year 7 student wanting to speak to an outside employer to over 90% of the year group having a least one valuable experience of employer engagement, was brilliant to see.” Dawlish College
  • “It was a really great experience and I think it is helpful for people to gain confidence and feel more prepared for the future, it also gives you an insight into working life and it was really great working with professionals.” Year 10 student from St James Secondary School, Exeter

Funding and Pricing

All About Me is always seeking funding to be able to bring the programme to schools at no cost to themselves. If we have funding for your area then hopefully you may be hearing from us! If not, we are able to provide the programme at the lowest cost possible, which depends on the size of the year group. Do get in touch for a quote.
